Developing and testing AI technical solutions that address industrial challenges by exploiting AI resources and Earth Observation Data focusing only on: 4 industrial domains (energy, security, health, agriculture)
1st call, under the thematic area of Security, and specifically concerning “Climate Security Understanding”.
The proposal will deal with integrating new technologies such as AI/ML and Earth Observation (Copernicus) data to serve the development of an automated system able to produce accurate multi-hazard maps depicting the probability of occurrence of wildfires and floods within a given area.
The final system, when supplied with the appropriate COPERNICUS data typology will be able to automatically export multi-hazard maps (wildfires and floods) for any area of interest. The final product, can be an excellent tool for decision-makers dealing with land investments and other related operations, since it can become a comprehensive analytical tool displaying vulnerability and risk. In other words, it can become a universal tool helping communities and corporations to embrace adaptation to the changing climate.
The consortium as is, consists of leading SMEs in key enabling know-how and technologies and is in search of a low-tech SMEs to enter the collaboration as an end-user of the product. In this way, we can complete the producer–consumer chain and observe how our product can be used and evolved.
That end-user will be the addressee of our product and by using it he will be able to adjust and become more resilient in previous unpredictable events, lowering the risk of an investment. It should be an SME company from one of the Member States of the European Union, or Associated Countries to H2020.
Taking under consideration all the above, the two-party consortium is looking for one SME partner from one of the following sectors:
- Insurance companies with specialization in the agricultural sector which can be potentially threatened by wildfires/floods
- Agricultural cooperatives which can be potentially threatened by wildfires/floods
- Travel agencies and Tourism industry groups interested in assessing the climate security risks from fires/flooding events at certain travel destinations
- Real Estate / Construction / Investment companies that will use the proposed tool for assessing the risks of fires/flooding concerning land and investments
