Call for SMEs and start-ups to submit proposals before 19 may.

On 16 March 2021, the GALACTICA project launched its 1st Open Call for Proposals for cross-sectoral projects in the fields of textile, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing. The application process is open to Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups in the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK).

A total of €1.2 million is available to fund the winning projects, divided into two funding schemes:

  • “Pioneer projects”

Up to €20 000 is available in funding for the Pioneer Projects in a lump sum. Single SMEs or consortia of SMEs can apply for this scheme. The scope and main goal of this scheme is to support the exploration of new cross-sectoral value chains feasibility, with a focus on developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that connects two or more of the sectors (aerospace, textile and advanced manufacturing). The expected duration of this project is 4 months.

  • “Orbital projects”.

Up to €58 000 of funding is available per SME, and up to €100 000 is available in funding per project for Orbital Projects in a lump sum. A minimum of 2 SMEs from 2 different sectors from the EU or the UK is required. The scope and main goal of this scheme is to implement functional prototypes and to demonstrate new cross-sectoral value chains that connect two or more of the sectors (aerospace, textile and advanced manufacturing). The expected duration of this project is 6 months.

The deadline to apply for either scheme is 19 May 2021 at 17:00 CEST (Brussels Time).
